Envoy Air, previously known as American Eagle Airlines, is the largest regional subsidiary of the American Airlines Group. It has more than 160 aircraft in its fleet and provides flights daily to destinations within the United States and in Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America. The company has 36 more aircraft on the way and plans to integrate them all intoits daily operations before the end of 2025.
On July 20, 2022, one of Envoy Air’s flights from Tampa to Nashville encountered severe turbulence, causing injuries to eight people. The aircraft, with 56 passengers on board, had to take a detour to Birmingham after 20 minutes to tend to the passengers. Seven of the injured passengers were taken to the hospital after experiencing neck and back pain.
Two passengers were injured after an Envoy Aircraft ran off the runway due to dysfunctional landing gear. The flight was carrying 25 passengers and 3 crew members from Miami to Freeport on October 24, 2020.
Most incidents and accidents involving Envoy Air did not result in serious injuries to passengers or crew. Airline companies follow a stringent protocol before, during, and even after operating a flight. No fatal accidents have happened to the airline for the past several years. However, the Federal Aviation Administration called out Envoy Air after nine incidents occurred between 2019 and 2020, placing doubt on the quality and proficiency of regional airlines.
The most common minor injury associated with aviation accidents is a lower-limb fracture. Other possible injuries include bone injuries, fractures, head injuries, and psychological trauma. Claiming damage compensation for personal injuries or loss of life of a family member is a complicated process that varies from one state to another.
