Frontier Airlines is a Colorado-based low-cost airline owned by Frontier Group Holdings Inc. Its fleet of 160 Airbuses, with seven more on the way, takes passengers to over 120 destinations in the US, Caribbean, and Mexico. The company started operations in 1994.
On the first day of November 2018, Frontier flight 1851, carrying 218 people from New York to South Carolina, had to return to New York after it was discovered that fumes were coming out of the cockpit. The crew stopped climbing and turned back around to their point of origin. The plane landed safely after 15 minutes. The flight was canceled, and reports say that one crew member and two passengers were taken to the hospital, and seven passengers received medical treatment at the airport.
A turbulent flight also led to injuries of four passengers onboard a flight to Denver on August 12, 2013. The plane encountered strong turbulence upon descent to Denver. Three of the four injured passengers were taken to the hospital for immediate medical attention.
On May 10, 2012, three flight attendants were injured when their plane that was carrying 143 passengers to Fort Lauderdale, FL, experienced turbulence moments before they were supposed to land at the airport. One of the flight attendants broke her right leg and was immediately transported to a hospital. The two other flight attendants suffered minor injuries.
